i slept on mersea island beach in a tent on monday nite, that was fun. went climbing at mersea youth camp - they had a big outdoor climbing wall, a high ropes course (inc a scary thing where you had to stand on top of a really wobbly 20cm diameter pole about 10m off the ground and jump off it to grab a suspended bar (attached to a harness but still scary), and a REALLY fun zipwire - like a big kids adventure playground basically! then me and kirsty went to mersea stone, which is a shingle beach across the water from brightlingsea, heated up curry and naan bread (amongst so many jumping sand bugs that at one point we thought it was raining them) and hot chocolate, fortified with bugs, and then pitched the tent - no mean feat on shingle in pitch dark - and went to bed. we were hoping to watch the stars but it was cloudy. did get woken up in the middle of the night by lots of boats chugging past right next to our tent though, and got scared that the water was gonna come in when it got to high tide...but it was all ok :)

bought some well cool pants in debs for 90p!!
